Our 2014 Guides School will put students into the boatman's position. From day one skills will be developed on: reading water, paddle boating, professionalism, swiftwater rescue & rope handling skills, boat maintenance, transportation & logistics.

Your Instructors: Harvey King, Jake Walker, John Weinmeister, Catfish Callaway, & Uncle Steve Harris have over 100 years combined experience running rivers all over the world. Pioneering river running in Mexico, & Central America & Guiding rivers in Africa, Chile, Peru, Europe and New Zealand these world Class instructors will teach you in the ways of: Reading Water, Professionalism, Ethics, Swiftwater Rescue and the River way.

 

 

 

 

Days 1-3 are Swiftwater Rescue for Whitewater Professionals. I.R.I.A Certification for Level 2 in the Discipline of Swiftwater Rescue. This is the same course taught to Firefighters, Law Enforcement and Search & Rescue Professionals. Days 4-9 will be on the river practicing the arts of water reading and paddling boat guiding. Participants completeing this guides school should be able to find employment with any whitewater outfitter/river company guiding class II & III rivers anywhere.

Both Courses $750 (scholarship available for candidates participating in both disciplines)
